At the Pension Protection Fund (PPF), we provide security in retirement for our members and millions of people throughout the UK who belong to defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. Through the PPF and Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), we compensate members for their pensions after the employer funding their pension becomes insolvent. In total, we look after over 400,000 members across the PPF and FAS. With over £30 billion in assets under management, our investments support long-term economic growth across the UK. Our award-winning team of around 450 professionals has earned the IPE UK Pension Fund of the Year title three times in seven years. We work closely with government and industry partners to improve outcomes for scheme members, employers, and the broader pension system playing a vital role in strengthening retirement security nationwide.
We are looking for a Corporate Communications Manager to join us on a fixed term contract for up to 15-months covering maternity leave. The role will be leading the writing and production of the PPF's corporate publications and helping to protect and develop our tone of voice and brand. This is a great opportunity for an experienced communications professional who enjoys turning complex information into clear, engaging and accessible content for a range of audiences.
In this role, you'll lead on the planning, coordination and delivery of communications campaigns for key set piece communications, working closely with colleagues across the Communications team and wider organisation. You'll oversee corporate award entries and support a range of corporate communications initiatives that help tell the PPF's story clearly and consistently.
You’ll bring strong experience of writing corporate materials and publications, alongside excellent editing, proofreading and verbal communication skills. You’ll be confident planning and managing communications activity, working with designers, artworkers or creative agencies, and developing content for digital channels such as online publications, websites and email campaigns.
You’ll also have strong project management skills, with proven experience of planning schedules, managing expectations and delivering high-quality communications activity on time and within budget. Just as importantly, you’ll be able to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels, review work produced by others and give constructive feedback in a collaborative way, helping maintain high standards across our communications.
As one of our communications managers, you’ll be a role model for the PPF's behaviours and play an important part in supporting an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team. You’ll use plain English, accessibility principles and audience insight to produce communications that are clear, inclusive and easy to understand.
In return for your skills, experience and commitment we'll give you a challenging role within a business where you'll get the support you need to develop your career. We'll also give you lots of opportunities for personal development and skills training.
Our Croydon office is just across the road from East Croydon station, which is around 15 minutes from Victoria or London Bridge, 10 minutes from Clapham Junction or half an hour from St Pancras.
