Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Running a caseload of around 150 RTA litigated cases.
- Dealing with all aspects of litigated claims involving Road Traffic Accidents and or any files of a technical nature which you may from time to time be asked to advice on, handle and/or progress.
- Ensuring clients are kept informed and up to date on a regular basis throughout the life of the claim by proactive communication by way of phone calls, emails or meetings.
- Building a rapport with clients, solicitors and insurersto ensure a consistency of service andloyalty to the business.
- Continually risk assess from the outset and duration of the case.
- Instructing Counsel, to attend conferences, hearings and CMCs
- Have relevant experience of handling claims involving credit hire issues.
- Prioritise incoming daily post/emails and dealing with anything needing urgent attention while the remainder of the post is dealt with expeditiously and in order of importance and productivity.
- Support and mentornew/less experienced members of the team with any issues in terms of clients, referrers, external agencies and procedure etc.
- Working to targets for the settling cases.
- Securing positive client reviews at the conclusion of the case.
- Checking the authenticity and validity of claims by speaking with clients regularly on potentially difficult files
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience of running your own caseload Fast and/or Intermediate track cases within a Personal Injury environment.
- Have a good knowledge of the CPR and/or relevant case law, Credit Hire as well as current legislation in order to progress claims in a timely manner.
- The ability to liaise and build up a rapport by using effective communication with all external agencies during the life of a claim including medical agencies, investigators, barristers etc.
- Good IT skills with a sound working knowledge of Proclaim or a similar case management system and essential MS Office knowledge.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a calm and methodical approach to work and a flexible, adaptable attitude to resolving issues.
