As a Health Care Support Worker, you will support the delivery of nursing care to clients within a clinical setting and/or home environment, as part of a team and under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The post holder would be responsible for leading a team of staff at Band 2 or would be delegated to work in delivering a service whereby the post holder regularly works without supervision of a qualified nurse for all or most of the shift.

Main duties of the job:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive post within the Community Nursing Team in North Powys. The successful candidate will carry out care and procedures within a community setting under the direction of a registered nurse, adhering to care plans and at times without direct supervision. We welcome somebody who is caring, sympathetic and able to learn new skills and provide excellent communication and an attitude that ensures the highest standard of care for our patients. The ability to follow policies and procedures as necessary is essential.

The successful candidate will be NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent in healthcare. You will need to be able to maintain IT based information systems so computer skills would be beneficial. The ability to travel is mandatory. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications:
    • NVQ level 3
    • Equivalent demonstrable experience in Health Care Setting
    • ECDL or equivalent
    • Aware of patient/relative/carer need & voluntary/statutory services
  • Experience:
    • Working within a multidisciplinary and multi agency setting
    • Meets all desirable criteria

    • Can demonstrate an understanding of Health and Safety issues
  • Other:
    • Flexible approach to the needs of the service
  • Aptitude and Abilities:
    • Can demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
