Powys Teaching Health Board community dental service is looking to recruit a part time Dental Officer for 22.5 hours a week, based in Newtown. You will be part of an innovative forward thinking community dental service which provides a wide range of dental services allowing the successful colleague to work alongside specialist colleagues with opportunities to develop additional skills.
Main duties of the job
A significant part of this role will be to provide a comprehensive range of NHS dental care for eligible adults and children in Powys, including GDS patients. The candidate will also provide courses of treatment for patients who are unable to access general dental services. As part of the wider team, you will also support the rest of the team to help improve access and reduce waiting times within the service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Appropriate graduate qualification or equivalent in Dentistry
- Registration with the GDC as a Dentist
Experience
- Ability and experience to deal with acute dental problems
- Current knowledge of dental surgery techniques, procedures, materials and concepts
- Eligible for a Welsh Performer Number
- Experience of NHS GDS regulations
Aptitude and Ability
- Ability to achieve and maintain professional standards
- Ability to readily understand and analyse information

As a salaried general dental practitioner, you will get study leave, mileage allowance when travelling to other clinics away from your base and generous annual leave.
