An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Community Mental Health Nurse post in Llandrindod Wells in The Richardson Mental Health Wellbeing Centre, which benefits from sharing the site with colleagues from CAMHS, perinatal, older adult services, psychology and primary care. This move is part of the wider service development agenda for community mental services.
Main duties of the job:
- You will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide specialist assessment, treatment and care to a caseload of people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties from within the local community.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide care to service users within the legal frameworks of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010, the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Health Act (1983).
- You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible in approach, able to work autonomously as well as with statutory and non-statutory service providers.
- Effective communication and engagement skills are fundamental to this role, as well as a current evidence-based knowledge and a commitment to working with individuals adopting a recovery approach and a commitment to working within a trauma-informed model of care.

Person Specification:
- Qualification: Registered Mental Health Professional and Registered with the relevant Professional Body.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Extensive knowledge of mental health issues.
- Advanced knowledge of mental health legislation, law, and practice.
- Knowledge of research-based, and evidence-based interventions.
- Advanced knowledge and application of the Care and Treatment plans.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 for those parts of the Act that directly affect the adult community psychiatric nursing role.
- Understanding of clinical governance.
- Educated to Diploma level knowledge of health & safety legislation.
- Evidence of personal development/specialist practitioner award.
- Teaching and Assessing qualification.
Experience:
- Work in community mental health nursing.
- Evidence of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge in depth understanding of the workings and function of the CMHT.
Aptitude and Abilities:
- Multidisciplinary team work.
- Advanced care planning and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead a small team/provide clinical supervision.
- Range of assessment skills for community working/able to manage resources.
- Good medication management skills including facilitation of medication clinics committed to raising the standards of clinical care.
- Ability to travel for meetings, training and to meet service users' needs.

- Some ability to speak, read and/or write in Welsh, or eagerness to learn.
