An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated person to take on the role of a Band 3 Community Health Care Support Worker for Babies, Children & Young People within the Children's Nursing Service. This is an exciting and varied role and the successful candidate will be required to work as part of a team supporting babies, children and young people in a range of community settings including the child's own home and schools.
Candidates must possess a level 3 qualification in health and social care or an equivalent level 3 qualification. The candidate will have experience of working with children and young people and ideally have experience of working with children with complex healthcare needs. Training and support will be given to the successful applicant to enable them to deliver aspects of the role.

Person Specification
- Qualifications and knowledge: Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject OR Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short course.
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting e.g. the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality e.g. General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- Experience: Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
- Experience of working within the NHS.
- Skills and attributes: Ability to work with minimum supervision to a high standard.
- Good communication skills - verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly and sensitively.
- Ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
- Ability to demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach.
- Organisational skills with the ability to use technology to undertake the role e.g. Microsoft Office, virtual platforms such as TEAMS.
- Physically able to carry out the duties of the role, including lifting, assisting with mobility, and performing other manual tasks.
- Ability to work a range of shift patterns.
- Ability to travel within geographical area to meet the needs of the service.
- Some ability to speak, read and/or write Welsh, or an eagerness to learn.
