Powys Teaching Health Board is seeking an exceptional and inspirational clinical leader to join us as Assistant Medical Director for Primary Care. This is a pivotal senior leadership opportunity at a time of transformation, offering the chance to shape innovative, sustainable, and patient‑centred primary care services across one of the UK’s most distinctive rural health systems.
Working closely with the Medical Director, Executive Director for Primary and Community care, and system partners, you will provide strategic clinical leadership across primary care, supporting delivery of the Health Board’s clinical strategy and transformation programmes. You will foster strong relationships across general practice, pharmacy, and wider partners, while championing quality improvement, patient safety and workforce sustainability.
You will bring strategic insight, credibility and the ability to translate vision into operational delivery, alongside a commitment to compassionate leadership and continuous improvement.
