TEACHING ASSISTANT POST – LEVEL 2 (NB 2 x TA Posts) Ysgol Robert Owen is a new build specialist school in Newtown, with outstanding facilities providing education for children and young people aged 4–19 with Additional Learning Needs. About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in helping our pupils thrive — emotionally, socially, and academically. Every pupil has unique strengths and needs, and you'll be there to support their learning journeys every step of the way. This is a hands‑on, dynamic role with everyday offering something different. You’ll need to be flexible, responsive, and ready to think on your feet, but you’ll never be without guidance, teamwork, and expert support.
If You Can Bring the Willingness to:
- Support class teachers with preparing resources and running activities
- Work in small groups, helping pupils to stay engaged and make progress
- Provide emotional and physical care in a nurturing and respectful way
- Encourage independence, confidence, and self-expression
- Use existing skills and experience to support pupils
- Build appropriate relationships with pupils to enable them to thrive
- Assist with the implementation of IDP’s
- Support the use of ICT and practical resources in learning activities

- Enthusiastic about supporting children with ALN, autism and complex needs

Prior experience is welcome but not essential — if you have the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide full training and development opportunities.
