Location: North Powys
About the role: 25 hours per week, term time only (38 weeks). There is potential for extra work during the summer holidays as we run a food and fun programme funded by the Welsh government at some of our schools.
About you:
- Must have a driving licence and own transport with business insurance.
- Experience and qualifications in cooking are essential (food safety level 2 or equivalent).
- Flexible approach to the working times of the day.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team or on your own.
- Some knowledge of special diets and allergens.
What you will do:
- The mobile cook will help cover staff absences in the north area of Powys. This may involve assisting a cook in a school kitchen or stepping up to cover a cook in a school kitchen.
- Adhere to Powys policy and procedures in our kitchens.
- Prepare, cook and serve meals to pupils of all ages following our nutritional guidelines and portion control.
This position has a requirement for an Enhanced DBS Check.
