We wish to recruit a Co‑ordinator to provide proactive support to the SPACE Panel in Powys, a service that will provide emotional health and wellbeing support at an early intervention and prevention level for babies, children, young people and their families.

The SPACE co‑ordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring effective, integrated working and will therefore need to be someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, who has a flexible approach and enjoys working as part of a team.

The SPACE coordinator will be the first point of contact for referrers, other professionals, families/carers and other members of the child/young person’s network and will play an important role in eliciting further information about the family’s needs and about what is important to the family where referral information is limited. They will be the outward-looking ‘face’ or representative of Powys SPACE working closely with a range of partners and colleagues at different levels to ensure the ongoing development of the Powys SPACE.

The Powys Space co‑ordinator will be responsible for screening all referrals ensuring sufficient information to support decision making. They will work closely with the Powys Space Team lead to provide a triage system and organise panel meetings, enabling children, young people and their families to access the right support, first time, from the right person.

The Powys Space Co‑ordinator will manage and oversee the administrative component of the Powys Space process and panel.

  • Excellent data collection, recording and monitoring skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office packages, digital platforms and databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency environment.
  • Ability to support triage processes and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent meeting planning, minute taking and agenda setting skills including ensuring actions are executed.

What you will do

  • To ensure all referral Baby/Child/Young person and Family information is collected, recorded and stored accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Undertake thorough checks against all relevant systems and databases when referrals are received and in advance of panel meetings.
  • Support the triage process and direct referrals to the appropriate partner agencies in advance of panel meetings.
  • Liaising with relevant professionals to ensure children and young people’s safety as a priority where referrals indicate safety concerns.
  • To prepare the synopsis, agenda and all relevant paperwork for weekly SPACE panel meetings, disseminating these to all appropriate professionals, minuting agreed actions at meetings and ensuring these are clearly communicated as required.
  • To work closely with and deputise on occasions for the SPACE panel lead.

This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check.
