About the role:
This role will lead and develop the Corporate Compliance Team, helping to keep the Council's corporate buildings safe, compliant and well managed. You will manage a clear compliance framework covering key areas such as fire safety, water hygiene, gas, electrical, asbestos, heating, sewerage plants and lifting equipment. You will also provide technical leadership and ensure corporate services meet their legal health and safety duties across the estate.
- Lead and manage the Corporate Compliance Team.
- Make sure Council buildings meet statutory compliance requirements.
- Oversee fire, water, gas, electrical, asbestos and lifting equipment safety.
- Provide technical advice on property compliance and health and safety.
- Prepare reports, policies and procedures for compliance matters.
- Manage budgets, procurement, performance standards and service improvements.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience at management level within construction, property industry.
- Experience of managing related compliance activity.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding in local government, building types, maintenance, health & safety, quality assurance practice, asset management and compliance information systems.
- Experience of managing property related compliance activity.
- Have good communications skills.
- Ability to critically assess techniques, materials, components and systems.
