The successful candidate will proactively assist the Climate Project Manager to develop, deliver and monitor projects, programmes and services that support delivery of the Net Zero Routemap and the wider Climate and Nature programme. The role will provide practical project, administrative, financial and reporting support to the Climate Team, helping to coordinate work across council services, maintain accurate project information, monitor progress against milestones and support the delivery of climate, nature and sustainability outcomes. You will ensure programme outcomes align to Sustainable Powys principles covering the five core areas for service delivery.,

  • Support the financial management, administration, monitoring of budgets and reporting of climate and nature projects, programmes, and initiatives aligned with the Net Zero Routemap
  • Support effective communication with stakeholders, helping to promote climate and sustainability initiatives through a range of channels including websites, social media, newsletters, and internal communications.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of climate and nature projects ensuring activities, milestones and outputs are tracked against local, regional, and national timelines.
  • Maintain and update project records, databases, trackers, and information systems supporting the collection, analysis, and reporting of performance indicators, carbon reduction data, and other relevant statistics.
  • Respond efficiently and professionally to enquiries from colleagues, partners and stakeholders, providing accurate information and supporting timely resolution of requests.
  • Provide administrative and organisational support for project boards, working groups, workshops, stakeholder meetings, training sessions, and climate-related events.
    Experience in supporting the delivery of projects or programmes.
  • Experience of monitoring projects and programmes.
  • The ability to set priorities and manage the progress of your own work and competing demands including time pressures and deadlines.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • An understanding of grant funding programmes.
  • Knowledge of financial processes and procedures in the public sector.
