This is an opportunity to train as a secondary teacher through the FULLY FUNDED PGCE at the Open University (2-year programme). Full time, fixed term for 2 academic years. Salary Scale: Point 1 Unqualified Teacher Status + Teacher Pension.
Ysgol Bro Caereinion is offering an exceptional opportunity to study a PGCE (QTS) through an employment-based partnership programme (2 years) which is sponsored by the Welsh Government in collaboration with The Open University and Powys County Council. The school is fully committed to supporting the Welsh Government's campaign to widen access to teaching and diversify the profession.
The programme is aimed at graduates who want to change careers or have experience working with children and young people, including teaching assistants, learning coaches or youth officers. Applications from candidates in their final year at university are also welcome.
The successful candidate will train with experienced and innovative staff, developing confidence, creativity and professional skill. They will support the school’s vision, contribute to the Welsh Curriculum, and provide a supportive, collaborative environment for students. Full support from the school and its people is provided throughout the course.
