The ASD/ND Peer Support Facilitator will play a central role in bringing ASD and Neurodiversity Peer Support groups to life across Powys. You will plan, coordinate, and facilitate regular peer support group sessions across the county, creating safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces where adults can share experiences, build connections, and support one another.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and facilitate regular ASD/Neurodiversity peer support group sessions across Powys.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with group members, colleagues and community partners.
- Promote the peer support offer across Powys so that adults who may benefit from the groups know how to access them.
- Work with partner organisations, including mental health, supported living and third sector services.
- Gather feedback from group members and use it to improve the accessibility and quality of the offer.
- Maintain accurate records, identify where people may need additional support, and follow safeguarding and escalation procedures when required.
- Ability to create safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces where people feel respected and able to take part.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, including with people who may face barriers to engagement.
- A person‑centred, neurodiversity‑affirming and trauma‑informed approach to support.
- Good organisation and record‑keeping skills, with the ability to plan sessions and manage work independently.
