Responsibilities

  • Learning and teaching
  • Advising and collaborating with the deputy headteacher, assistant headteacher (primary) and other teachers on the design and development of courses of study, teaching materials, teaching programmes, teaching methods and assessment arrangements.
  • Be a role model in learning and teaching practices, and be willing to share and model practices.
  • Plan and prepare stimulating and challenging lessons for the ability range ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to succeed to their full potential.
  • Plan and provide a wealth of bespoke experiences to make them well-rounded and skilled learners.
  • Teach, according to their educational needs, the learners assigned to the post holder, including setting and assessing work to be completed by the learner.
  • Collaborate with Foundation Learning Phase providers and the secondary sector as part of school transfer procedures.
