To be part of the small Grounds Maintenance team and undertake operational tasks as directed in relation to grounds maintenance, highway maintenance & housing estate maintenance including the operation of specialist tools, plant and machinery.
Carry out repair and maintenance activities in respect of grounds maintenance, highway maintenance and the maintenance of equipment and facilities, using specialist machinery and tools as necessary. Recognise and adhere to all relevant health and safety policies and arrangements in a pro‑active manner to ensure that a high standard of safe working practices are maintained. Apply guidance from risk assessments for established tasks and undertake risk assessments for new work arrangements or changes to current arrangements, to ensure operational activities are conducted as safely as possible. Carry out the necessary safety equipment and plant checks prior to use, and the associated basic maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Be part of a frontline team carrying out grass cutting on Council green spaces during the summer months. Carry out all aspects of estate maintenance throughout the year to include grass cutting, hedge trimming, shrub maintenance, tree works, leaf clearance, footway cleaning etc.
