Headteacher – New Welsh‑medium All‑Age School (Builth Wells)

Role: Lead the establishment of a new all‑age Welsh‑medium school in Builth Wells, opening September 2027, and develop it to Year 13.

The position is part of Powys County Council and the Temporary Governing Body.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inspirational and innovative leadership, driving continuous improvement, quality and high standards.
  • Manage change effectively and motivate staff and pupils.
  • Define and lead the strategic direction and development of the school.
  • Work in partnership with the Council, the Temporary Governing Body, feeder primary schools and early years settings to promote the school and increase pupil numbers.
  • Ensure the Welsh‑medium learning environment is strong and bilingual excellence is promoted.
  • Support staff and pupils to achieve their full potential through collaborative partnerships with parents, governors and the community.

Qualifications & Experience
