DEPUTY HEADTEACHER
Group 1
Salary Range L4-L8
32.5 hours, Permanent
Required for September 2026 on a permanent contract, subject to completion of pre-employment and safeguarding checks. Welsh Language Skills are desirable for this position.
The governing body is seeking to appoint a motivational, experienced, enthusiastic and aspiring professional to further develop their skills alongside the Headteacher. Our new Deputy Head Teacher must share our commitment to high expectations and assist the head teacher to drive our school forward.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate and promote the values and dispositions of the Professional Standards for teaching and leadership in Wales.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations of learning and behaviour and have a passion to ensure that every child succeeds.
- Be an aspiring leader, able to engage with curriculum reform to support the delivery of a curriculum that meets the needs of all learners.
- Have a proven track record of leading initiatives to raise attainment.
- Actively promote the welfare, wellbeing and safeguarding of all children.
- Be able to maintain and promote the values and ethos of our school.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to life-long learners and professional development.
- Show expertise in an area of the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with a committed team of staff and governors, parents and with the wider community.
The successful applicant will be subject to a Powys County Council enhanced disclosure from the DBS and will need two references before they can take up the post.
