About the role:

To provide a Clerk of Works service ensuring quality and workmanship is of the highest standard with a responsibility for the day-to-day management on site and successfully monitoring build and works processes.

Be the key link between Powys County Council and the main contractor, agreeing allvaluations for works completed.

Be able to makeproactive use of previous experience of managing new build and large scale housing investment projects and an excellent understanding of all current and relevant legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and Health and Safety requirements.

About you:

  • Excellent communications skills both verbally and written.
  • Ability to manage time working on own initiative and effectively contribute as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain up to date accurate records and produce written reports.
  • Competent use of IT.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

What you will do:

Lead defects surveys at the end of the development and works and coordinate as necessary with the Employers Agent the completion of all works to the satisfaction of the Council and the residents

Undertaking property inspections and cost assessments of potential properties to purchase.

Working collaboratively in the contract management of multi-million-pound schemes from the tender process through to to completion of the works and defects period. This will include ensuring adherence to the specification applicable to that scheme.

Delivering new build schemes on time and on budget.
