To work as part of a team assisting in the delivery of the Councils Responsive Maintenance and Planned Maintenance Service by carrying out repair and maintenance work on Corporate properties and related assets.
About you
- Previous experience of carrying out maintenance or repair works in a building maintenance environment.
- Ability to work alone, or as part of a team and willingness to co-operate with supervisory staff as directed.
- Ability to make decisions as to the most cost effective medium – long term repair solution in the majority of situations.
- To understand and use Powys County Councils operating systems and software in relation to attending scheduled jobs and logging additional works and materials as required.
Responsibilities
- As directed and appointed, attend properties where repair issues have been reported or identified, consider what is necessary and proportionate in the circumstances, determine the appropriate remedial works necessary, order materials and complete the work as required and convey this information to the supervisory team.
- To carry out all work normally accepted within the building industry as that of a Handyman to Council related assets. This can also include varied and complex situations including being asked to attend an emergency and having to leave the current working area safe until your return.
