A magical start to life at Pownall Hall School. At Pownall Hall, childhood is celebrated from the very beginning. Our Woodland Nursery, inspired by hygge and set within eight acres of leafy Wilmslow countryside, offers babies and toddlers a warm, nature-rich environment where curiosity, comfort and care go hand in hand.

We are looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team, working primarily with children aged 0–2 years. This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture the youngest members of our school community, helping them to feel safe, secure and ready to explore the world around them.

The role includes:

  • Acting as a key person for a small group of children, building strong bonds with them and their families.
  • Creating a calm, nurturing space indoors, while making full use of your own dedicated outdoor space, plus further facilities including our woodland, gardens and outdoor learning areas.
  • Working with colleagues and visiting specialists (including music, yoga, French and Forest School) to provide a rich and varied nursery experience.
  • Supporting each child’s personal, social and emotional development, while laying the earliest foundations for learning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Level 2 or above Early Years qualification.
  • Has experience of caring for children aged 0–2 and a genuine love of working with babies and toddlers.
  • Is warm, patient and positive, with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Brings energy, flexibility and joy to their role every day.

Salary and benefits:

  • Full-time across 4 days per week, all year round with 6 weeks annual leave.
  • Competitive pension scheme, free hot lunches, on-site parking, paid breaks, no uniform and excellent working conditions.
  • Opportunities to progress to Room Lead, Deputy Room Lead or into other areas of the school.

Our commitment to safeguarding:

Pownall Hall School is committed to ensuring the highest levels of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils, and we expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We adopt a fair, robust and consistent recruitment process in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance. This includes online checks for shortlisted candidates. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, references, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
