Team/Role Overview

The successful candidate will join the Cluster UK and Europe Domestic Payments team focusing on managing and driving Citi's Payment business in the UK and Europe markets. Sitting in Citi’s Services business, the role involves the management of strategy, product development, risk and controls and commercial growth, ensuring full alignment with the regulatory environment and driving financial performance. You will be at the centre of a large network of partners coming together to deliver market leading solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Manage critical initiatives across payment solutions for the cluster, with a strong focus on data and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead assessment, requirements, and implementation of key regulatory mandates across payment solutions.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the payment’s application architecture, how it supports critical payment flows and end-to-end client experience when using Citi’s solutions.
  • Support Modernization initiatives – including product development, project management and successful end to end execution.
  • Contribute to shape the strategy of domestic payments in UK and Europe, working with the countries, subclusters and global teams to continue to build on our existing solutions to offer a best-in‑class client proposition.
  • Own and drive PNL growth – proactively understanding the market landscape and client needs to drive the creation and commercialisation of winning client solutions.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, pre‑empting and mitigating potential risks and escalating, managing, and reporting any issues with speed and transparency.
  • Lead and support AI related initiatives.

What we’ll need from you

  • Strong relevant experience and in‑depth understanding of the payments landscape with focus on the UK and European markets.
  • Strong understanding of payment processing, payment messages and related data flows.
  • Experience in implementing payment regulatory mandates.
  • Experience in data led initiatives and projects.
  • Experience in developing and launching complex payments solutions.
  • Experience in leading the successful implementation of complex projects.
  • Ability to create business cases and related presentations and materials.
  • Apply ingenuity and creativity to problem analysis and resolution for complex and/or unique situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Risk management mindset. Experience in assessing, documenting, and managing business risk as part of a product organisation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a high degree of collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Experience with AI initiatives is desirable.
