We're seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Quantitative Software Engineer to work as part of the FIDCOM super department, with a focus on serving as the senior technology face off to our commodities leadership. There are various trading critical technologies which the candidate will own, ranging from market making engines to our ability to hedge on the interbank market with algos and order management.
In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Senior Quantitative Software Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.
What you'll do in the role:
- Drive the development of innovative solutions, frameworks and best practices within the team's area of expertise
- Analyse complex datasets and synthesise insights into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and business stakeholders
- Design, develop and enhance client facing products while optimising the performance, scalability and reliability of trading algorithms
- Identify and mitigate operational risks by designing robust controls, monitoring frameworks and governance processes
- Act as an L3 Subject Matter Expert, providing critical support during market stress events, production incidents and complex operational challenges
What you'll bring to the role:
- At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Experience in delivering complex technology initiatives and contributing to strategic technology roadmaps
- Ample communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technology and business leadership
- Deep expertise within the relevant domain, coupled with a strong understanding of industry trends and market dynamics
- Strong programming skills in Java or Scala, with an interest in developing deep expertise in Scala
- Knowledge of C++
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation and tooling
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- Interest in functional programming principles
- Curiosity to leverage different technologies in solving financial modelling and quantitative challenges
