The Project Manager I is an integral member of the Project Management Office (PMO). This role manages multiple low-to-moderate complexity projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery of scope, schedule, and budget objectives with full accountability. The Project Manager I builds foundational PMO discipline by mastering communication, execution rigor, and proactive risk management. This position provides an opportunity to grow into a future leadership role within the PMO by developing the professional habits and discipline that define a high-performing project manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead assigned projects from initiation through completion using PMO standards, ensuring adherence to scope, cost, and timeline objectives.
- Build and maintain accurate project schedules, budgets, and risk registers within Planisware and/or Microsoft Project.
- Identify risks early, elevate proactively, and implement corrective or recovery plans to maintain schedule integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Operations, and Finance to drive successful execution.
- Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, meeting all PMO process and gate requirements.
- Prepare and deliver clear, confident project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Manage procurement coordination and resource planning for assigned tasks or deliverables.
- Support lessons-learned reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate personal accountability, structured discipline, and professional composure under pressure.
- Embody the PMO’s “Hungry and Humble” philosophy — driven to achieve results, eager to learn, and collaborative in success.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in project coordination, engineering, or operations.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as Planisware or Microsoft Project.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to summarize key information clearly and confidently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and maintain organization under pressure.
This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
