We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement Student - Service Engineering to join our team specialising in Service Engineering for our Engine Business Unit in Darlington Engine Plant. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Support for the development and validation of new Cummins products through the Serviceability and design review processes including CAD analysis.
  • Supports the departmental projects for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with the Customer and End user for field investigation and data gathering.
  • Develops and validates technical work instructions and technical document publication.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure flow of relevant data from the data logging tools.
  • Complete ad hoc technical documentation updates submitted via the departmental ticket system.

Qualifications

  • Studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Hands on experience with Basic Engine/component familiarity (Essential).
  • Experience with MS Tools.
  • Basic knowledge in Technical Documentation engine operation and experience with CAD/Creo tool (preferred).
