The Job’s Mission: As Brand Manager for Stryker’s Foot & Ankle business, you will drive market share growth through the formulation and execution of effective, strategic marketing plans. You are the EMEA brand expert who sets strategic direction and ensures execution for portfolio growth through the development of marketing campaigns and strategies, portfolio development as well as internal and external education strategies.
Our product portfolio includes innovative solutions such as Total Ankle Replacement and implants for hindfoot and forefoot surgery, designed to improve patient and hospital outcomes. As a leader in Foot & Ankle surgery, Stryker offers comprehensive solutions for individuals with chronic pain.
In this position, you will own the creation of compelling customer value propositions, maximize new product launches and enhance key customer relationships across EMEA. You will work closely with local Marketing teams in leading downstream execution while also contributing to upstream marketing initiatives to ensure development projects address EMEA customer needs appropriately.
Reporting to the Marketing Director of Extremities EMEA, this role can be based in any of our European locations: we offer great workplace flexibility with a hybrid work model. What you will do:
- In your new role, you will start with a familiarization phase to learn about our portfolio and build relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- In alignment with global strategy, set annual and long-range brand/indications strategy to achieve required growth, profit and market share targets.
- Create/distribute scalable assets, tools, marketing campaigns and best practices which can be localized for maximum impact.
- Identify education and brand experience opportunities for both internal and external audiences to increase brand perception and value in collaboration with Education Manager.
- Develop trust and strong relationships with local marketers, sales professionals, internal stakeholders and key customers.
- In collaboration with the Divisional/Portfolio Marketing/Local Marketing teams, you will create the Annual Marketing Plan for EMEA and portfolio roadmap over a 3-5 year horizon.
- Work with country leadership to forecast demand and partner with supply chain accordingly.
- Define and execute regional product life cycle including phase-in (launch) and phase-out of products.
- Provide analysis of business performance, brand perception and other drivers of future brand performance. Define mitigating actions to deliver on strategy.
- Partner with divisional resources to develop portfolio through new product development, line extensions and M&A activity.
- Work in partnership with local Product Managers in a complex matrix organization, influencing and ensuring execution of the EMEA-wide strategies.
- Create EMEA-wide, scalable, customer engagement events such as facility tours/events/congresses, hands-on opportunities, etc.
- Manage branding, messaging, positioning and pricing of assigned brands based on market, customer and competitive insights.
- Lead the commercialization planning of new product development in partnership with Portfolio teams.
- Take the lead in developing Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) for the brand.
- Travel percentage: 40%, as this position involves customer‑facing activities and sales support in the field.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 8+ years of work experience is required, including experience in fields such as international Marketing, Product/Brand Management or related in industries such as MedTech, BioTech, etc.
- Ability to accurately and effectively lead/manage (marketing) projects to ensure timely outcomes, business performance and growth.
- Excellent interpersonal communications, persuasion and presentation skills – with proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong strategic-thinking, adaptability, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and to also establish relationships/work in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to stakeholders and customers from different markets and cultures.
- Ability to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures and policies.
- Impeccable work ethics & integrity in managing confidential information.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
Preferred:
- Experience in Orthopaedics would be highly preferred.
- MBA is preferred.
