We are seeking someone to join our Valuation Control team as Global Head of Credit Model Control in Finance to use quantitative techniques and market intuition to perform analysis on often novel or unconventional trades. The assets covered will be Credit, Securitized Products, Municipal Securities and Lending. This is a Vice President position within our Model Development Job Family which maintains, implements, develops and documents models for the business units and Finance.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources.
What you'll do in the role:
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm.
- Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise.
- Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area.
- Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards.
- Use quantitative techniques and market intuition to perform analysis on often novel or unconventional trades.
- Work with trading and front office quants and risk department regularly on marking methodologies and model framework.
- Use your financial market and mathematical knowledge to review valuation and risk models while working closely with model developers.
- Analyze pricing factors in complex financial products and comprehend market movements' impact on the portfolio and firm.
- Be responsible for managing a team, not only allocating and reviewing the team members' monthly deliverables but supporting their professional development by providing the right opportunities for them.
- Manage, attract, develop and retain talent for team within Finance while creating an inclusive environment; translate Firmwide goals into actionable goals for department/function.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division.
- Strong technical skills.
- Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members.
- Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks.
- Strong academics in finance or a quantitative discipline such as financial engineering, mathematics, physics, engineering or other technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in quantitative modelling of financial markets and products.
- Relish challenges - you are excited by the prospect of working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Proven ability to develop strong internal client relationships and exceptional communication skills.
- Experience managing a team.
- Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in quantitative financial field.
