We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and rigorous Senior Scientist II to join our Neuroscience Discovery team, as part of the Movement Disorders pillar. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and characterizing novel biologic-based bispecific molecules using human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived dopaminergic neurons and mouse primary neuronal cultures. This role requires strong experimental design, hands-on cell culture experience, and a collaborative spirit to enable high-quality data generation and decision making in support of AbbVie’s strategic neuroscience portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 12 years of experience, Master’s Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, PhD and typically 4 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in human iPSC-derived neuronal culture; experience with dopaminergic neuron models strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in mouse/rodent primary neuron culture and molecular or imaging-based assays (e.g., calcium imaging, immunocytochemistry, high-content screening).
  • Experience with mouse in vivo systems is a plus.
  • Experience working with protein or antibody-based modulators and understanding biologics mechanisms of action is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
