Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other computational biologists/bioinformaticians to implement & execute analysis & integration of high dimensional OMICS data (i.e. genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) for target discovery & project support using pre-clinical & clinical data.
  • Refine & extend analysis workflows for data analysis, data visualization, & data tools (e.g. Rshiny) in collaboration with bioinformatics engineers.
  • Communicate results to cross-functional teams in verbal or written form, facilitated by static & interactive data visualization.

Education & Experience

Must possess a BS Bioinformatics, (Bio)statistics, (Bio)Mathematics or related discipline, & 3 years of analyzing at least 1 of the following OMICS modalities: genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics, from raw data to finished results. Of experience required, must have 3 years with each of the following:

  • (i) coding in R or Python;
  • (ii) generating interactive & static data visualization using R/Rshiny or Python;
  • (iii) applying statistical analyses, experiment design, regression & modeling to scientific questions;
  • (iv) translating data results, including informative data visualization, in a non-technical format for written & oral presentations to stakeholders.

Alternatively, would accept a MS in Bioinformatics, (Bio)statistics, (Bio)Mathematics or related discipline & 1 year of academic or industry experience analyzing at least one of the following OMICS modalities: genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics, from raw data to finished results. Of academic or industry experience, must have 1 course or 1 year of (i),(ii), & (iii) (not (iv)). Experience may be gained concurrently. Would accept combination of education, training & work experience.

Additional Information

Salary: $122,839.48 - $138,500.00 per year
