Overview

We’re seeking someone to join our Business Continuity Planning team as a Business Continuity Planning Specialist in Firm Resilience.

The team provides the framework and oversight for the development of business continuity plans, performs exercises and technology readiness testing, and integrates lessons learned for process improvement.

You will help build operational resilience throughout the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Business Continuity Planning program requirements by providing guidance and direction to assigned Business Unit stakeholders to ensure their Business Continuity Plans are aligned with the firm’s Business Continuity Management Policy and Procedures.
  • Ensure assigned Business Unit Business Continuity Plans are updated, tested and signed off in accordance with the firm’s Business Continuity Management Policy.
  • Provide Business Continuity Planning tool training as required.
  • Perform enhanced quality assurance of Business Continuity Plans on an ongoing basis and document findings for Business Unit stakeholders.
  • Maintain direct communications via monthly Business Unit planning meetings and activities.
  • Assist the department in enhancing, formalizing and standardizing the business continuity planning process.
  • Drive and maintain the business recovery site arrangements and set‑up.
  • Coordinate, guide and oversee the annual cycle of BC Plan testing, including business recovery site testing.
  • Coordinate periodic reviews and tests of established plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and making recommendations for improvements as needed.
  • Coordinate monthly reporting collation and distribution for program governance and monitoring purposes.
  • Engage with senior management and participate in governance committees to effectively drive the Business Continuity Planning program.
  • Dynamically drive and support local, regional, and global managed projects as required.
  • Interact with country management to provide guidance, coordination and support during a disruptive event, including escalation, communication and documentation of lessons learned.
  • Support and participate in internal table‑top exercises.
  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in the financial services sector.
  • Understanding of industry best practices pertaining to Business Continuity Planning and Testing.
  • Understanding of existing and emerging regulatory requirements on the financial sector regarding Business Continuity and Operational Resilience.
  • Excellent English fluency (verbal & written).
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) with the ability to articulate program enhancements to key stakeholders.
  • Ample relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Self‑motivated, calm and capable of managing competing priorities.
  • PC skills: Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, and Word).
  • Resilience, Risk Management or Technical background.
  • Professional experience in a Business Continuity Planning role is a considerable advantage.
  • Business Continuity Professional certification is a plus.
  • Experience with Fusion RM Tool would be beneficial.
