Job Summary
Operates machines and production equipment independently in accordance with quality and productivity requirements safely in a manufacturing environment and may instruct or coach others. This role will make an impact in the following ways:
- Operate production equipment independently in accordance with safety, quality, and productivity requirements
- Manufacture and assemble products to defined engineering standards, cycle times, and customer specifications
- Perform quality inspections, identify non-conforming material, and follow standard work and quality procedures (SPC, poka-yoke, visual standards)
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping, machine cleaning, and planned operator maintenance
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, including stop-work authority and hazard reporting
- Communicate effectively with team members, skilled trades, and support staff to support production goals
- Instruct, coach, and support less-experienced team members as an informal resource
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, process, and material flow
Responsibilities
In order to be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment independently and meet production and quality targets
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety fundamentals, and quality systems
- Experience identifying equipment issues and working with support teams to address repairs
- Ability to make sound decisions, manage complexity, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
- Willingness to complete required training and ongoing personal development
Qualifications
Education, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience: Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary by location and may include a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life.
