Markets Operations Belfast Overview
Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business. We support a wide range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience. Role Overview
The team is currently recruiting for a project manager to execute on global initiatives across Middle Office and Securities Settlements, spanning both Cash Equities and Fixed Income Business Lines. Initiatives will cover but not limited to regulatory, strategic re‑architecture and process improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Execute established project management disciplines including the development of program governance and effective stakeholder management to drive planning and execution.
- Identify, prioritise and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues.
- Evaluate front to back control processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing strategic solutions with SME’s and other inputs.
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimisation strategies for Target Operating Models, BRDs, User Stories, Test Cases.
- Communicate with all stakeholders to elicit, analyse and validate the requirements for changes to control processes, within workshops, working groups and other forums.
- Analyse the information collected in a detailed manner whilst working independently and as part of the overall team.
- Work with sponsors to ensure that there are trackable, tangible benefits and associated KPIs.
- Work collaboratively with technology, ensuring there are clear delivery plans aligned to Operations strategic requirements and hold delivery plan owners to account.
- Manage testing work‑streams, drive User Acceptance Testing collaborating with internal and external teams where required.
- Develop and deliver presentations to Markets Operations and business management covering project / programme status and plans.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of Operations training plans and materials, present training to small and large groups as required.
What We’ll Need From You
- Knowledge of a process in any of the Securities products (Equities, Fixed Income, SBL or Prime).
- Run the programme working groups to discuss deliverables with the SME’s and own the senior governance stakeholder meetings.
- Examples of delivering process improvements or controls enhancement.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills and ability to clearly document findings and put together proposals for solutions.
- Be a strong communicator both written and verbal to help explain the problem, capture the team inputs and work through to resolution.
