Location: UK-wide with Glasgow Base | Salary: OTE up to £60,000 with bonus, profit share + Benefits | Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Site-Based.

Deliver Critical High Voltage Cable Works. Join our employee-owned business and play a hands-on role in installing, jointing, terminating and supporting the commissioning of HV cable systems safely and to the highest standard.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out cable preparation, installation, terminations and joints at 11kV, 33kV, and above on renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Support electricians and other trades on larger installations, including earthing and associated site activities.
  • Take responsibility as Installation Lead on relevant projects, reporting into the Site Manager and Project Manager on progress and safe delivery.
  • Assist SAPs and Commissioning Engineers with cable testing, commissioning and energisation activities during project delivery.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and apprentices, helping develop their skills while maintaining high standards of workmanship and tidiness.
  • Champion Powersystems’ 5 P’s of Priority No.1 Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Pride, Professionalism, Partnership, and Proactive.

What We’re Looking For – Cable Jointing / HV Installation

  • JIB approved ECS card and experience working safely on construction sites.
  • Strong practical experience in cable preparation, installation, containment, earthing and associated HV site works.
  • Experience of carrying out cable terminations / joints at 33kV within the electrical power, commercial or industrial sector.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Jointer with a clear understanding of site standards and safe systems of work.
  • Able to plan ahead, follow business processes and manage multiple time-pressured tasks while maintaining quality and tidiness.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused approach to problem solving on site.
  • Full UK driving licence, Right to Work in the UK, and flexibility to travel and stay away regularly for project work.
