What You’ll Do
- Install, assemble and test high-voltage structures, switchgear and associated equipment within outdoor substations up to 132kV.
- Carry out inspections, ductor testing and quality checks, accurately recording results and ensuring installations meet drawings, specifications and required standards.
- Lead, support and mentor less experienced fitters and apprentices, promoting consistently high standards of safety and workmanship.
- Support the wider HV Installation team with site activities, working within your competence and agreed safe working practices.
- Represent Powersystems professionally and uphold our core principles: Priority No.1 Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, Professionalism, Pride, Partnership, and Proactivity.
What We’re Looking For - Fitter
- Strong hands-on experience working as an HV Fitter.
- Proven experience installing, assembling and testing HV switchgear and associated substation equipment.
- Demonstrable experience of oxygen and propane brazing and exothermic welding.
- A good working knowledge of BS 7671 regulations would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting, guiding or mentoring less experienced fitters and apprentices.
- A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
