We’re a busy, growing survey team that provide measured surveys, underground utility detection and 3D models to the architecture, construction and civil engineering sectors. We’re looking for a Financial Accounts Administrator to provide accounting and financial support to our team in Frodsham, Monday to Thursday. We’re looking for an energetic self‑starter, someone that is curious with a can‑do attitude and who enjoys working in a small business with a breadth of responsibility. You must have a financial background, be highly organised with a high attention to detail and be interested in software systems. We’re also looking for a team player who understands ISO compliance and can keep the financial systems up to date and compliant. Note: this is not purely a data entry role.

Responsibilities

  • Sales and purchase invoicing with regular bank reconciliation.
  • Credit chasing and regular liaison with clients.
  • Sub‑contractor organisation, onboarding and payment review.
  • Negotiate and manage annual contract renewal terms.
  • Supplier organisation, onboarding and payment reports.
  • Monthly analysis of supplier invoices for variation in expenses.
  • Monthly supplier variance reporting.
  • Quarterly VAT reports and submission to HMRC.
  • Compile weekly and monthly financial and sales reports and collate information for external accountants and management team, at year end.
  • Compile and present financial Key Performance Indicators at the monthly staff meeting.
  • Compile reports for Powers’ ISO standards such as carbon emissions reports, take part in audits and keep systems up to date.
  • Submit monthly payroll journal on Xero.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Registers.

Financial Reporting

  • Complete weekly sales and supplier payment reports, cash flow spreadsheets, management accounts (responsible for the Profit & Loss report), monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and sales forecast reports.
  • Compile and maintain Environmental Carbon Emissions data.
  • Compile any other weekly and monthly reports to senior management as required.
  • Update all company monthly monitoring spreadsheets.

Compliance

  • Maintain Powers’ documented information on construction portals and platforms.
  • Take part in annual ISO audits to ensure compliance.
  • Run finance audits according to the audit schedule.
  • Maintain Calibration Registers and Hazardous Waste Register.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Finance software experience.
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
  • AAT level 3 or similar financial qualification.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑orientated environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in using MS Office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of working in construction desirable.
