PowerOn Media is the new name of the Backstage UK Creative Group, reflecting our move into better and bigger things. We are refreshing our image with a catchy name and investing in a better website. Over the next month and year, you will see more content from us, including new publications, vlogs, and podcasts. We pride ourselves on having the best people to move the group forward, from presenters and writers to back office staff.

In this role at #AvGeeks, you’ll be obtaining information and writing stories covering all types of topics in the world of travel and aviation. Prior knowledge in these subjects is ideal but not essential. You’ll be part of our content development team and work closely with our Social Media Officer, Nadine Reading.

Typical activities in the position can include:

  • Writing articles in the publication’s house styles
  • Reviewing products given to us to test and write articles on
  • Conducting interviews using a range of methods
  • Generating and using initiative to write stories
  • Sourcing images suitable for articles
  • Keeping up to date on current trends and developments in your chosen topic

Writers will have the chance to attend press events related to the travel and aviation industry, with more information provided after the candidate is successful.

You should be passionate about writing and getting your content to as many people as possible, as well as following other blogs and writers in the same or similar field. A minimum of a C in English Language is required to apply for this role.

This role does not provide any pay (we are constantly working on getting funding); however, we offer the chance to obtain press passes to attend amazing events such as EGX and MCM Comic Con. We also aim to provide as much experience in writing for a well-known online publication.
