Responsibilities
- Gather and analyse financial information for internal and external use.
- Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas of potential improvement.
- Assist the Board of Directors with budgeting and forecasting activities; provide analysis and market trends.
- Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports.
- Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company.
- Manage and control capital expenditure.
- Calculate and reconcile monthly rebate accruals.
- Assume responsibility for accounting procedures and drive continuous improvement of accounting practices.
- Stay up‑to‑date with financial regulations and technological advances in accounting software.
- Evaluate company financial and accounting performance using key data.
- Develop and manage financial systems and policies.
- Advise on problems and suggest improvements.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial information, including preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts.
- Support the internal audit function with data and analysis to ensure a clean and timely year‑end audit.
Skills & Experience
- Experienced Management Accountant or Financial Accountant.
- Qualified ACMA / ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent.
- Confident in preparing and analysing monthly management accounts; experienced with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices (UK GAAP/IFRS).
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Quickbooks) with Advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, commercial awareness and stakeholder management exposure.
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial and commercial data to drive decision making and identify areas for improvement.
