This role will help secure investment, strengthen the financial resilience of network members, and ensure the voices of children, young people and communities are reflected in local regeneration and decision-making. Working with the Network Manager, the post holder will support inclusive, youth-focused growth across the Black Country Network.

Job Description

  • Identify and secure funding and investment opportunities that support long-term change for children, young people and communities across the Black Country.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, commissioners, businesses and network members.
  • Support the development of collaborative funding models, consortia bids and shared investment approaches across the network.
  • Economic readiness & capacity building
  • Provide support with funding and investment proposals and bid writing.
  • Deliver workshops and 1-to-1 support to build members’ investment readiness and sustainability.
  • Influence & regeneration strategy
  • Represent Powered by CAN and the Black Country Network at external forums and events.
  • Engage in community and stakeholder events to understand local needs and priorities.
  • Influence regeneration, planning and investment discussions to ensure children and young people are considered.
  • Research, insight & impact
  • Undertake research to identify gaps in provision and funding opportunities across the Black Country.
  • Gather and analyse evidence of the social, cultural and economic impact of Network activities.
  • Work with the Network Manager to gather insight and learning across the network.
  • Equity, sustainability & climate considerations
  • Promote equity by ensuring investment benefits marginalised communities.
  • Encourage climate-resilient and environmentally responsible approaches in investment decisions.
  • Collaboration & team working
  • Work closely with the Network Manager to align investment activities with programme priorities.
  • Contribute to a collaborative values-led team culture.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and impact of the Network.
