Direct reports: Part-time Fundraising Officer
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: This is a fixed term contract opportunity covering maternity to September 2027 (with the possibility of extension to December 2027).

- Manchester – 2 days per week in the office
- London – 2 days per month in the office.
Power2 is a fast growing and energetic children and young people's charity that has supported 30,000 young people since 2001. We are based in the North West of England and London and deliver early-intervention asset-based programmes to children and young people who have mental wellbeing challenges and are disengaged from school and more widely. We are well-known for our accredited Teens and Toddlers programme and are supporting young people via Power2 Rediscover, an intensive 1:1 crisis response programme. Our Power2 Thrive programme focuses on improving mental wellbeing.
You will lead on fundraising from Trusts and Foundations and be responsible for relationships, applications and reporting to major Trust and Foundation funders. You’ll lead internal processes for prospect research and have oversight of a growing portfolio of potential and existing donors. You will ensure a consistent pipeline of applications to meet your performance indicators and collate information from across the organisation to produce funder reports.
Income generation
- Deliver against agreed activity and income generation targets.
- Manage a growing portfolio of charitable Trusts and Foundations and a pipeline of applications.
- Cultivate, manage and build relationships, working with the fundraising team and across the organisation to develop and execute stewardship and cultivation plans.
- Lead on internal processes for prospect research and assignment of bids and of Trust and Foundations relationships, ensuring that a pipeline of applications is consistent across the year and sufficient to meet income targets. To include lead generation and relationship building with ‘invitation only’ funders.
- Ensure all Trusts and Foundation data is logged in the CRM system (Salesforce) and that all relevant submissions, contacts and actions are accurately and systematically recorded.
- Develop high quality, compelling and accurate reports for funders.
- Contribute to the process of collating narrative and data into a ‘Narrative Bank’ that is used across the organisation.
- Lead on cross-organisational work that ensures projects are delivered to funder requirements.
- Contribute as needed to submissions to tenders and to fundraising from other sources, including from corporate fundraising and high net worth individuals.
- Contribute to the development and execution of delivery and strategic plans as they relate to fundraising activities and specifically to Trust and Foundations fundraising and stewardship.
- Support delivery of Power2’s event calendar and other fundraising and communications activities.
- UK travel and visits to funded projects with stakeholders as required.
- Provide line management to the part-time Fundraising Officer, including regular supervision, objective setting, performance reviews, and professional development support.

Required
- A track record of successful fundraising from charitable Trusts and Foundations and/or statutory sources.
- Demonstrable experience of stewarding and cultivating relationships with representatives from charitable Trusts and Foundations.
- Demonstrable experience of prospect research, data capture and reporting to funders.
- Highly data-literate and numerate.
- Project and time management skills, with an ability to work laterally and collaboratively across an organisation towards best possible outcomes and to deadlines.
- Ability to develop and lead processes across an organisation.
- Experience of contributing to income generation strategies and plans.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office, able to work across multiple digital platforms and with demonstrable experience of CRM system/s.
- Outstanding writing skills, with demonstrable ability to appeal to a variety of audiences.
- Targets and results orientated.
- An understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of Power2.
- Experience of working in a youth or education charity.
- An understanding of monitoring and evaluation in relation to outcomes for young people.
- Experience of working alongside an organisation’s communications function.
- Additional experience in major donor fundraising.
- Experience of successful line management.
