The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager Solar PV to take ownership of the technical delivery of our installations. This is a key leadership role, responsible for overseeing installation teams, ensuring system designs are accurate and compliant, and maintaining the highest standards from design through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support solar PV and battery storage installation teams across multiple projects
- Review and approve system designs, ensuring they are technically correct and compliant
- Ensure all installations meet current standards and regulations (including MCS, DNO, G98/G99/G100 where applicable)
- Carry out site visits as required to resolve technical issues, assess feasibility, or support installers
- Oversee and manage snagging lists, ensuring defects are identified, tracked, and resolved efficiently
- Act as the main technical point of contact between design, installation, and management teams
- Support continuous improvement of installation processes, quality, and safety
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to installers and junior team members
About You
- Proven experience in solar PV and battery storage systems
- Strong technical knowledge across residential, commercial, and agricultural installations
- Experience managing or supervising installation teams
- Excellent understanding of compliance, standards, and best practice in the solar industry
- Confident conducting site inspections and resolving on-site technical challenges
- Highly organised, with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on quality and performance
Essential Criteria
- Fully qualified electrician
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Certification
- Experience in the installation of Solar PV systems and EV Chargers
- Experience with commissioning and handover documentation as per MCS regulations
