This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join the largest privately-owned generator specialist in the UK. As an LGV Driver, you will play a key role in our Midlands Depot, supporting the Rental, Sales, and Service teams by delivering and collecting generators and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will operate a variety of vehicles from our extensive fleet, including 6- and 8-wheeler rigid lorry-loaders with or without drawbar trailers, tractor units with 45’ flatbed trailers, fuel tankers, and 4x4s. Our customer base is diverse, ranging from utility providers to event companies and construction firms. You’ll often visit challenging sites and will be expected to provide top-quality service to our valued customers.

Key Tasks & Main Duties

  • Delivering generators to and collecting from customer sites
  • Loading and offloading generators and ancillary equipment in the yard and on customers’ sites, locating equipment on site in line with customer requirements (equipment training will be provided)
  • Checking and securing equipment on lorry, ensuring equipment agrees to the relevant paperwork
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety Regulations, e.g. Tachograph Regulations, European Working Time Directive, Vehicle Safety Check Lists etc.
  • Comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy. This includes company vehicles
  • Adhere to relevant regulations such as Tachograph Regulations, European Working Time Directive, and vehicle safety checklists, as well as ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 procedures, proactively contributing to our continuous improvement programme
  • Comply with company health and safety policy
  • Comply with ISO H&S, Quality and Environmental Management procedures

Skills & Experience Required

  • LGV Licence required, C+E (Old Class 1)
  • Experience with equivalent vehicle types (Rigid Wagon with Drawbar Trailer rated to 44 Tonnes, Tractor Unit with 45’ flatbed trailer)
  • Digital Tachograph holder
  • Lorry Loader Licence (Hook) (ALLMI or RTITB preferred) with proven experience in lorry loader use
  • ADR Licence (At least Class 3, Tanks & Packages)
  • Evidence of Driver’s CPC Training
  • CPCS Card Holder

Overtime Rates

  • Monday to Friday 12am-4am: Double Time
  • Monday to Friday 8am-5pm: Standard Time

  • Saturdays 4am-Midnight: Time and Half
  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: All hours Double Time
