As one of the largest generator specialists, our mission is to explore new opportunities where reliable power is critical and continue to grow sustainably in current markets.
Duties
To do so, we are looking for a Fabricator/ Welder in our busy Fabrication department. The primary duties of the role involve:
- Full production of sheet metal fabrication – measuring, cutting, folding, welding, fitting, etc.
- Fabrication of steel sheet and sections, thickness from 1mm to 10mm.
- Operation and programming of machinery such as guillotine and press brake.
- Metalwork, i.e. cutting and folding metal to create components.
- Soundproofing units.
- Stripping out generator parts from containers and possibly fabricating new parts if damaged.
- Manual cutting with Plasma and Flame cut methods.
- Using own initiative to complete off-spec jobs, e.g. fixing damaged metal work.
- Liaise with other fabricators/staff to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness are achieved.
- Use of appropriate handheld and powered tools and equipment to carry out the tasks set.
- MIG Welding sheet metal from 1mm to 15mm, sections from 3mm to 15mm.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with an open workshop facility.
- Liaison with staff, supervisors and management to ensure parts availability is appropriate for the required tasks.
- Provide general assistance in the yard, including loading and offloading materials and equipment (after the forklift licence has been taken).
- Comply with all aspects of the company quality management procedures (ISO 9001:2015), environmental management standards (ISO 14001: 2015) and the ISO 45001:2018 Health & Safety standard, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.
