What Will You Be Doing In This Role
- Generator Maintenance: Perform routine service, maintenance and overall upkeep on generators within the rental fleet. Follow manufacturers’ recommended service schedules to ensure optimal performance.
- Engine Repairs: Carry out repairs on customers’ rental generators which have broken down, on and off-site as required.
- Yard Operations: Assist with general tasks in the yard, including loading and offloading equipment. Operate forklift equipment as needed.
- Delivery & Collection: Deliver and collect generators and ancillary equipment using company vehicles. Refuel generators as part of the delivery process when required.
- On-Site Service & Repairs: Provide servicing and repairs for Power Electrics’ equipment on-site, when necessary.
- On-Call Responsibilities: Participate in the company’s on-call rota system to ensure 24/7 support.
Skills And Requirement
- Technical Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or Plant Maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent). Alternatively, completion of an approved apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent proven experience in servicing and repairing large diesel engines (e.g. Perkins, Cummins).
- Skills: Strong fault-finding skills and effective communication abilities. Effective communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
Overtime Payments: Mon – Sat 12:00am – 4:00am Double Time. All other out of hours Time & Half. Sundays & Bank Holidays Double Time.
