We’re looking for a motivated and technically capable Test Development Engineer to join our Test Engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support production operations while playing a key part in the development, maintenance, and improvement of our test systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing first line technical support to production for test-related issues, including fault finding, diagnosis and repair of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Designing and developing test equipment, including development jigs, qualification jigs, and both manual and automated test systems (ATE).
  • Supporting and maintaining existing test equipment and associated software.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve test processes, delivering efficiency gains and cost savings.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate technical documentation.
  • Collaborating with engineering, production, quality and external suppliers to ensure effective test solutions.

Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of test equipment (manual and automated) in a relevant engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of test principles and their application within manufacturing.
  • Experience of fault finding and testing electronic systems.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and test validation.
  • Familiarity with in-circuit testing principles.
  • Experience testing switched mode power supplies or similar circuitry.
  • Relevant A Level, BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
