We're looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Operations Data Coordinator to join our Metering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving problems and making a real impact on the customer experience. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing operational metering data, investigating anomalies, resolving complex queries and ensuring the accuracy of electricity meter information used throughout the customer journey. This isn't a typical administration role—you'll be analysing large datasets, identifying trends and working with multiple stakeholders to ensure data is accurate before it progresses through operational and billing processes.

If you enjoy investigating problems, have strong Excel skills and like taking ownership of queries through to resolution, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinating electricity meter installations, exchanges and removals, ensuring activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Managing, validating and maintaining operational metering data across multiple internal systems.
  • Investigating and resolving data discrepancies, meter reading anomalies and customer queries, taking ownership through to resolution.
  • Analysing large datasets using Microsoft Excel to identify trends, exceptions and operational issues.
  • Using Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and other Excel functions to reconcile data, investigate anomalies and produce meaningful reports.
  • Reconciling electricity meter readings against customer and industry data, identifying missing, duplicate or abnormal readings and ensuring data integrity.
  • Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, industry partners and internal teams, providing excellent service via email and occasional telephone support.
  • Processing industry data within agreed timescales, ensuring regulatory and operational deadlines are consistently achieved.
  • Producing accurate reports and management information to support operational performance and decision-making.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance data quality and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience using Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP (or INDEX/MATCH), filtering, analysing and reconciling large datasets.
  • Experience investigating data discrepancies, identifying anomalies and resolving operational queries.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and analytical approach.
  • The ability to interpret data and make informed decisions based on your findings.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence liaising with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of issues and see them through to completion.
  • Experience within the utilities, energy, metering, operations, logistics or data administration sectors would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Why join us?

You'll become part of a supportive, collaborative team where your work has a direct impact on operational performance and customer satisfaction. We value curiosity, continuous improvement and people who enjoy solving problems. If you're looking for a role where you can combine analytical thinking, Excel expertise and customer interaction in a fast-paced operational environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: This role requires a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Candidates should be confident using Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and analysing large datasets as these skills form a key part of the day-to-day responsibilities. A practical Excel assessment may form part of the interview process.
