Hours: Monday – Friday (site-based shifts: 8am–4pm or 11am–7pm)

Rate: Β£14.36 – Β£16.92 per hour

Role Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Craftsperson to support the maintenance of a large NHS estate, ensuring all mechanical services are maintained to a high standard and in line with statutory requirements.

The role involves planned and reactive maintenance across a hospital environment and working closely with engineering teams and site stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance works
  • Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical plant and equipment
  • Ensure works are completed in line with KPIs and health & safety requirements
  • Update job records using a CAFM system (e.g. Maximo)
  • Work independently and manage assigned tasks effectively
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
  • Support wider engineering teams where required

Requirements

  • Mechanical maintenance experience (hospital or facilities environment preferred)
  • Ability to work from drawings and specifications
  • Good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Willingness to work towards AP / CP duties if required
  • Comfortable working in sensitive hospital areas
