Panel Wirers have the ability to layout equipment and produce basic wiring, working to company process standards and operating procedures in one of either Bench Assembly, LV or MV switchgear.

Key accountabilities:

  • Must be able to read basic Schematic drawings, G/A’s, CDR’s, D&P drawings and identify components.
  • Must be competent at stripping and crimping cables from 0.75mm to 120mm using hand tools and machinery.
  • Create Screen and Ethernet Cable.
  • Have the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • Practice good housekeeping at all times and organise the work area effectively.
  • Produce basic wiring in a uniformed manner.
  • Work to clear instruction and process standards.
  • Capable of highlighting potential issues and suggesting rational corrective/preventative actions.
  • Willing to transfer skills and knowledge to colleagues when requested.
  • Responsible for achieving required output including productivity, quality and agreed targets.
  • Operate and have control of Kanban and consumable stock levels.
  • Good communication with all members of the team is vital to the effective and efficient running of the area.

Education and Experience:

  • The ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication that delivers high levels of confidence in those dealt with.
  • Meet the expectations of both internal and external customers, clients and suppliers through a sound understanding of their requirements, being responsive to their needs and exceeding their requirements.
  • Pragmatically solve problems using varied approaches and considering all relevant factors and options before making a decision/taking action.
  • Demonstrate energy, drive, commitment and dedication to achieving both own and company success.
  • Ideally, previously worked in a manufacturing environment and have previous experience of wiring to schematic diagrams.
