The principal objective of the role is to be responsible for the engineering and management of all technical matters associated with 3rd Party Supplier (Major Bought Out) contracts and the integration of Powell engineered and manufactured product into a project delivered package solution.
Key accountabilities in this role will be:
- Receipt and initial review of the contract file, liaising with Project Manager, Estimating and Commercial Manager and Procurement Manager.
- Undertake a thorough review of the contract file with the 3rd Party Supplier and Procurement, ensuring that the client requirements are understood by all parties and can be met technically and commercially. Advise any technical/commercial issues to the Project Manager.
- Participate in the initial, interim and final design reviews with specific responsibility for the technical execution of the 3rd Party Packages.
- Formulation of a plan with the 3rd Party Supplier, Project Manager, Procurement and allocated engineering team, for completion of all engineering work associated with the 3rd Party Package and coordinated with the engineering and execution of the switchgear and systems elements of the project.
- Ensure the procurement package to the 3rd party is issued complete and on time and within allocated time allowed for within the purchase order including coordination of internally generated documentation required to satisfy 3rd party suppliers requirements.
- Ensure 3rd party and client documentation, both incoming and outgoing, is issued as required, on time and within allocated time allowed for within the purchase order.
- Perform thorough checking of all produced information, both incoming and outgoing, prior to issue. Documentation from the 3rd party supplier that is passed to the client is timely and checked as accurate and compliant to the client specification.
- Support and assist Project Manager and allocated Engineering resource by providing technical assistance on all aspects of 3rd Party Package and client requirements.
- Liaison, where required, with client, Design & Development, Procurement.
- Responsible for ensuring 3rd Party Supplier adherence to client specification, standards, legislation, regulatory requirements and for providing client authorised solutions.
- Responsible for the coordination and undertaking where necessary of project and client required progress meetings, inspections, factory and site acceptance testing on and off site and the satisfactory close of out of open issues that may arise.
- To travel to 3rd party locations in order to build, manage and maintain relationships and if required, to assist in the resolution of general issues with suppliers/contractors performance.
- Provide pro‐active support on major bought out elements of technical bid submissions and if necessary during bid clarification meetings in collaboration with the External and Internal Sales Managers.
- Provide pro‐active support of the supply chain, including evaluation of new supply partners and products/services and assist with standardisation of major bought out elements of projects to mutual benefit.
- Responsible for the training of colleagues across the business in topics related to the provision of 3rd party packages integrated with Powell products.
- Ensuring departmental performance to a standard which satisfies internal and external client requirements.
