Role Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market presence for Powder Systems Limited’s (PSL) range of bespoke and standard process equipment, primarily for the pharmaceutical industry. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and working closely with the engineering, project management, and operations teams within PSL to convert technical enquiries into successful orders. The role will cover management of the UK, Ireland & APAC regions.

Qualifications

  • Strong business development, B2B sales, and account management skills, ideally within pharmaceutical, life sciences, process equipment, or related technical industries.
  • Proficiency in market research, opportunity qualification, and pipeline management using CRM tools.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical solutions related to process equipment, filtration, drying, or microsphere technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Proven experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and marketing teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
  • Experience in capital equipment or process solutions sales is highly desirable.

Additional Information

  • Reporting to Head of Sales
  • Hybrid working – minimum 2 days work from home per week
  • Regular attendance at PSL offices in Liverpool is desirable
