This is an exciting opportunity to provide strategic leadership and help shape POW Nottingham’s future. Our new Treasurer will play a key role in guiding the organisation through its next phase of development and success.

What difference will you make?

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a meaningful difference, supporting a community that directly benefits from POW Nottingham’s work. As our new Treasurer, you will help shape the organisation’s future, ensure strong financial stewardship and sustainability, contribute to its strategic direction, and work alongside a passionate team to deliver trusted, life-changing services.

You will also play a key role in strengthening the Board, promoting effective governance, and helping to challenge stigma surrounding adult entertainment and sex work while supporting the organisation’s continued growth and impact.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a financially skilled and strategic individual to help strengthen the organisation’s financial governance, sustainability, and long-term success. The role involves overseeing financial controls, supporting strategic planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, contributing to fundraising, and presenting financial information in a clear and accessible way to Trustees and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with strong organisational and problem‑solving skills, sound judgement, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with a practical, hands‑on approach when needed. They will be collaborative, adaptable, and confident in supporting fellow Trustees, while bringing energy, commitment, and a strong belief in the rights of sex workers and those at risk of exploitation. Experience navigating complex organisational, funding, or governance environments would be highly valued.

Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

We believe that diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences make our organisation stronger and more effective. We are dedicated to building an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered — and where intersecting identities are recognised and represented at every level, including our Trustee Board. We particularly welcome applications from people of colour, young people, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with lived experience of socio economic inequality. We are looking for Trustees who share our passion for equity, diversity, and inclusion, and who will help embed these values across all areas of our work.

We are committed to an accessible recruitment process and are happy to make reasonable adjustments — please don't hesitate to let us know what support you need.
